Synlie collects information to provide better social experiences and compatibility matching:

• Profile Information: We collect your display name, birth year, gender, education level, occupation, country, and city. These are used to calculate demographics and compatibility scores.
• Voting and Poll Activity: We record which polls you create and the options you vote for. This data is core to the "Opinion Match" feature.
• Communications: Direct messages (DMs) sent through our platform are private between participants but are stored on our servers.
• Media: Avatars and images uploaded to polls or votes are stored and associated with your account.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Similarity Calculations: Your votes are compared with other users' votes to compute compatibility percentages (Similarity Scores).
• Demographic Analytics: We aggregate data (e.g., "50% of users in London voted for Option A") to provide insights on poll results. This data is anonymized in general views.
• Personalization: We use your activity to suggest users with similar opinions.

3. Data Visibility

Public Profile: Your display name, bio, and public statistics are visible to other users. You can control your visibility in your settings.

Poll Visibility: Polls can be Public, Unlisted, or Private. Public polls and your votes on them (unless marked otherwise) may be visible to the community.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account or specific content at any time. Deleted content may persist in backups for a limited period.

5. Opt-Out Rights

You can opt-out of the "Social Suggestions" and "Similarity Matching" features in your Privacy Settings. Opting out will exclude you from being suggested to others and from the matching cache.
